Prime Minister Gilani Hosts Iftar Dinner For Parliamentarians

Islamabad: Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani hosted an Iftar dinner here today at the Prime Minister’s House for the Coalition Parliamentarians hailing from the Multan, Bahawalpur and DG Khan Divisions as a first meeting of the series of divisional meetings to discuss the development projects at the divisional and district levels.

The Parliamentarians in which Governor Punjab, Foreign Minister, Ms. Hina Rabbani Khar, Minister for Textile, Makhdoom Shahabuddin and Minister for Professional and Technical Training, Mr. Riaz Hussain Pirzada were also present to apprise the Prime Minister about the progress in the rehabilitation works pertaining to the last years’ floods that damaged the infrastructure in these divisions at a colossal scale.

The Prime Minister assured his full support and directed the Ministry of Communication and the NHA to carry out the works of strengthening of spurs and bunds including the roads in coordination with the local MNAs.

The Prime Minister informed the MNAs that he would personally visit those areas in the near future to see the completion of the rehabilitation works in the flood stricken areas.

Responding to the questions of the MNAs, the Prime Minister said all out efforts are underway to give relief to the people from the load shedding by adding 3000 MW electricity in the national grid and also a number of power generation projects have been initiated by the Government.

The Iftar dinner also attended by Sardar Bahadur Khan Sehar, Minister of State for Defence Production, Khawaja Sheraz Mahmood, Minister of State for Production, and MNAs Ch. Iftikhar Nazir, Mr. Azeem Dualtana, Begum Nasir Akhtar Chaudhry, Mr. Moazzam Ali Khan Jatoi, Mrs. Khadija Aamir, Dewan Ashiq Hussain Bukhari, Syed Mumtaz Alam Gilani, Mr. Abdul Ghafoor Chaudhry and Mr. Javed Iqbal Warraich.
