Pak support to Kashmir cause hailed


Srinagar, February 03, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference (APHC) has thanked the people and leadership of Pakistan for observing February 5 as Kashmir Solidarity Day, every year. Senior APHC leaders, Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi and Shabbir Ahmad Shah in their separate statements issued in Srinagar expressed the hope that Pakistan would continue its moral political and diplomatic support to the Kashmir cause.

Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi said that Pakistan’s support to the Kashmiris was essential till final settlement of the Kashmir dispute. He said that the people of Kashmir would continue liberation struggle till complete success.

Shabbir Ahmad Shah, thanking Pakistan for observing solidarity with Kashmiris, said that Pakistan was the only country that had always raised the Kashmir cause at the international fora. He said that on February 5 the entire Pakistani nation would highlight the Kashmir dispute by holding demonstrations and seminars.

Another APHC leader, Mohammad Yousuf Naqash, in his statement issued in Srinagar hailed Pakistan for observing 5th February as Kashmir Solidarity Day and extending moral, political and diplomatic support to the Kashmir cause. He urged the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation play an effective role in resolving the problems faced by the Muslim Ummah, particularly the disputes of Kashmir and Palestine.

The APHC spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar said that while the Kashmiris had rendered unprecedented sacrifices, Pakistan had also played a key role in projecting the Kashmir dispute at the world level.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Political Movement, Firdous Ahmad Shah, chairing a meeting of his party in Srinagar said that India had illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir in 1947, giving rise to the Kashmir dispute. He said that since then Pakistan had been advocating resolution of the dispute in accordance with the aspirations of Kashmiri people. He said that Kashmiris were grateful to Pakistan for observing February 05 as Kashmir Solidarity Day.
