Masarrat Aalam not presented in courts once again

Srinagar, August 18, 2015 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the authorities have once again not produced the illegally detained senior Hurriyet leader and the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League, Masarrat Aalam Butt, before courts on the hearing of the fake cases registered against him.

The JKML spokesman in a statement in Srinagar said that Masarrat Aalam was to be produced before the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate and Forest Court in Srinagar in two different cases. However, he was not brought from Jammu’s Kot Bhalwal jail.

The spokesman said that the CJM directed the SSP Srinagar to appear in person before the court on October 3, if Masarrat Aalam was not brought from Kot Bhalwal jail. He strongly condemned the authorities and said that not producing an accused before a court in time was nothing but disrespecting the judiciary by those who were supposed to implement the judicial orders. He said that Masarrat Aalam had emerged as voice of the oppressed Kashmiris so the authorities in order to appease the Sangh Parivar were trying everything to prolong his detention.

“First the agents of New Delhi created fabricated cases against Masarrat Aalam which paved way for his arrest on February 17, 2015, despite the fact that he had come out of the jail just before forty days only. Now he is not being produced before court on the behest of Sangh Parivar hearings,” the spokesman said.

He said that the anti-Muslim and anti-Kashmir forces even ignored court orders about Masarrat Aalam’s shifting. In June this year, the High Court of the territory had ordered his shifting from Kot Bhalwal to a jail in the Valley but the authorities had not complied with the orders. He said that such tactics could not break the resolve of the unlawfully detained leader.

The spokesman also strongly denounced the registering of a case against the Chairperson of Dukhtaran-e-Millat, Aasiya Andrabi, by the puppet authorities. He said that Aasiya Andrabi had unfurled the Pakistani flag in the disputed region of Kashmir and not on the Indian soil so filing of a case against her again showed the frustration of New Delhi, its local agents and its men in uniform.
