Widespread rain predicted in Khyber Pakhtunkhawa

 

Islamabad, February 25, 2013 (PPI-OT): Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) predicted widespread rain/thunderstorm with snowfall over the hills in the upper/central parts of country on Tuesday/Wednesday.

Spokesman of PMD informed that another westerly wave has entered in Balochistan that would grip upper and central parts of the country on Tuesday. Under the influence of this weather system widespread rain/thunderstorm with snowfall over the hills is expected in Khyber-Pakhtunkhawa (with scattered heavy falls in Peshawar, Kohat and Bannu divisions) on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Scattered rain/thunderstorm is expected in Punjab (with isolated heavy falls in Rawalpindi and Gujranwala divisions), Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan during the period. Scattered rain/thunderstorm is also expected in Northeast Balochistan (Quetta, Zhob, Kalat and Sibbi divisions) tonight and Tuesday. The possibility of hailstorm at isolated places in the plains of Punjab and Khyber-Pakhtunkhawa cannot be ruled out during the period.

The barani areas of KP and Punjab are expected to receive good rains during the period.
