World urged to facilitate settlement of Kashmir dispute

 

Srinagar, May 29, 2016 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Jammu and Kashmir Social Peace Forum, a constituent of All Parties Hurriyet Conference Chairman, Devinder Singh has urged the international community to facilitate talks between Pakistan and India for settlement of the Kashmir dispute as per UN resolutions. Devinder Singh said this while addressing a function held in Kathua, today. Locals including students attended the programme.

Devinder Singh said that the UN Security Council passed a resolution on April 21, 1948 about settlement of the Kashmir dispute through plebiscite, and it was supported by the United States, United Kingdom and France.“We hope that the world powers will influence both India and Pakistan to initiate a peace process with which the UN as well as the people of Jammu Kashmir will be associated to ensure the settlement of the dispute based on principles of justice,” he added.

Singh said that Indian armed forces were using brute force to crush the genuine and legitimate struggle of Kashmiri people for right to self–determination. Advocate Rakish Kumar, Mohan Lal, Mohammed Hussain, Talik Raj and Harpreet Singh also addressed on the occasion.
