UNSC President: We support two-state solution to Israel-Palestine conflict

 

New York (OIC-UNA) � Sebastiano Cardi, Permanent Representative of Italy to the United Nations and President of the Security Council for the month of November, confirmed that the UNSC believes in a two-state solution to the Palestinian cause and welcomes any effort in this direction, including that of the US administration.

Cardi told Jordan News Agency (Petra) that the Council will follow up on its monthly meetings on the situation in the Middle East including the Palestinian issue, and hold the necessary discussion to find a solution to the question of Palestine.

In this regard, the Council encourages every effort, including the effort of the US administration, which appears to be serious in achieving a two-state solution to the Israel-Palestine conflict, he added.

The Italian diplomat pointed out that the Security Council Presidency will carefully prepare for the next meeting on the Palestinian cause, on November 20. He expressed his hope that the meeting would some progress.
