Banjul � The Embassy of the United Arab Emirates in Dakar, Senegal, organized the inauguration of three dams in the village of Kuntaur in the Republic of the Gambia, with funding from the Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Foundation.
The inauguration was attended by Second Secretary at the UAE Embassy Mohammed Ali bin Ilan and Director of Gambia's Disaster Management Mohammed Al Shamsi, as well as dignitaries and residents of the village.
The audience praised the restoration of the major dam at the main entrance of the village and the construction of two dams at the other entrances of the village, which were destroyed by floods in 2017. They also thanked the Foundation for responding to the Gambian government's request and wished the leadership and people of the UAE further progress and prosperity.
