Shabbir Shah urges tripartite solution to Kashmir dispute

Srinagar, February 07, 2013 (PPI-OT): Senior APHC leader and Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Freedom Party, Shabbir Ahmad Shah has called for finding out a solution to the Kashmir dispute through tripartite talks involving Pakistan, India and the true representatives of people of Kashmir.

Shabbir Ahmad Shah addressing a party meeting in Srinagar, however, cited the dual policy of India and said that talks and serious violations of human rights by Indian troops and police personnel in the occupied territory could not go hand in hand.

The senior APHC leader said that on one hand New Delhi was asking for a dialogue to bring about settlement of the Kashmir dispute, and on the other it was using all barbaric tactics to silence the opposition voices in the territory.

Shabbir Ahmad Shah made a particular reference to the plight of illegally detained political prisoners in jails of India and Kashmir and said that the treatment meted out to the detainees in Jammu jails was a shame on democracy.
