Islamabad: Willim r. Brownfield, Assistant Secretary of State, Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs paid tribute to all those law enforcers of Pakistan who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty, defeated terrorists and ensured peace in the lives of their countrymen.
During his visit of Police Line Headquarters Islamabad especially conducted to acknowledge the services of martyred policemen and lay floral wreath at National Police Martyrs’ monument, he appreciated the performance of capital cops and other policemen who wrote golden chapter in the history with their blood and stamped out the scourge of terrorism from the soil.
He said that these brave men defended the country and also its people through sacrificing their own lives. It is their sacrifices and gallant attitude which make the whole nation of Pakistan proud in the world about its commitment to root out the menace of terrorism and extremism, he added. On the arrival, IGP Islamabad Bani Amin Khan welcomed the distinguished guest and a smartly turned out contingent of Islamabad Police presented guard of honour to him.
The IGP Islamabad told the ambassador that names of martyred personnel of four federal police organizations, four provincial police organizations, AJK police and Gilgit, Baltistan have been displayed on the stones of this monument. DIG (Headquarters) Ahmed Mukarram, SSP (Headquarters) Zubair Ahmed Hashmi and other police officials were also present on the occasion.
Willim R. Brownfield laid floral wreath at martyrs’ monument and visited Safwat Ghayur gallery. He stood silent there for a while to pay tribute to martyred souls.
