Perfume making course at Lahore Businessman Association for Rehabilitation of Disabled


Lahore, February 12, 2013 (PPI-OT): As many as 15 visually impaired and physically challenged trainees got perfume making training at Lahore Businessman Association for Rehabilitation of Disabled (LABARD) Vocational Training Centre. The three-day training was conducted in collaboration with Leonard Cheshire Disability and Development Program (LCDDP). The successful trainees were given certificates at an impressive ceremony held here Tuesday.

LABARD President and MNA Muhammad Pervez Malik, Senior Vice President Mian Nusrat-ud-Din, Vice President Bushra Aitzaz Ahsan, Joint Secretary Muhammad Saeed Khan, Shaista Pervez Malik, Naghmana Javed and members of LABARD governing body were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, the LABARD President Muhammad Pervez Malik said that top priority of LABARD is to create opportunities of self-employment for the disabled so that they could be able to become active members of the society.

He said that this unique course was conducted in collaboration an International NGO with an objective to turn the visually impaired people skillful and provision of self employment through interest free loans.

He said that the keenness shown by the participants is a source of encouragement for the LABARD and it would be coming with more such unique courses in near future. He said that rehabilitation of disabled persons is a sacred job and everybody should come forward to play his role.

Speaking on the occasion, the LABARD Vice President Bushra Aitzaz said that perfume making training course was one of the LABARD’s efforts being made for welfare of the less privileged community of the society. She said that it was a happy sign the successful trainees now become entrepreneurs. She also congratulated the trainees for successfully completing the course.

She said that disabled persons could play an important role for prosperity of the country as they have some God-gifted abilities. She said that the history is replete with such incidents where the less privileged people performed excellent work for the society.

In the end, the LABARD office-bearers paid rich tributes to the Leonard Cheshire team for the cooperation and expertise.
