Peace, strategic balance core principles of Pakistan’s foreign policy: Masood

Pakistan’s Ambassador to the United States Masood Khan has said the core principles of Pakistan’s foreign policy are peace, regional equilibrium, strategic balance, shared prosperity and building partnerships.

Addressing a conference in connection with 75 years of independence of Pakistan organized by Harvard University in Boston, he said Pakistan will continue to rise and emerge stronger. He said our economy is poised to grow fast.

The Ambassador said Pakistan attaches great importance to its longstanding relationship with the United States.

He said the US is our preferred source for military equipment and technical know-how. He said the US is also our favourite destination for exports. He said our exports to the country jumped from seven billion dollars to nine billion dollars last financial year.

Masood Khan said we are reshaping our partnership in trade, investment, green energy, infrastructure, health and education.

The Ambassador expressed satisfaction that the US is encouraging its businesses to enhance their exposure in Pakistan.

The Ambassador commended the US assistance for the relief and rehabilitation of flood affected people.

Masood Khan said Pakistan emphasized the need for resolution of outstanding disputes between Pakistan and India through negotiations. He noted that a cohesive and an economically integrated South Asia will benefit its people and the entire globe.
