Karachi, January 30, 2015 (PPI-OT): Passing out Parade of 30th Elite Course at Razzakabad was held on today, 30thJanuary, 2015 at Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Elite Police Training Centre Razzakabad, Karachi. In the passing out ceremony 338 Police commandos including 11 female officials from different districts of Sindh participated in the parade. Additional IGP Karachi, Ghulam Qadir Thebo was the Chief Guest.
AIGP Maqsood Ahmed Commandant Elite Police Training Centre Razzakabad welcomed the guest and the ceremony was attended by other Senior Police officials, family members of passing elites, members of civil society and a large number of media personnel.
While addressing the ceremony, the Chief Guest and Commandant Elite Police Training Centre Razzakabad Maqsood Ahmed highlighted the challenges faced by police and motivated the young police man to face those challenges. They congratulated the passing recruits and praised the efforts of training staff and deputy commandant of Shaheed Benazir Elite Police Training Centre.
AIGP Maqsood Ahmed in his speech reviewed the law and order situation and stressed on the need of a police force which is capable of combating terrorism. He emphasizes the importance of counter terrorism training so that police personal responding to an incident can perform better and also protect others. He informed about the recent development and approval of his Promise of Peace Project by Chief Minister of Sindh.
Police Emergency Services 921 is to be established by Special Security Unit of Sindh Police within shortest period of time. The service will be a dedicated telephone service, SMS and instant mails. Police Facilitation Centres will be created by integration of existing services that is Central Command and Control Centre linked with video surveillance system.
Immediate response capability will also be increased by reorganizing Madadgar Centre making them to response to an incident within 3 to 5 minutes. CM also decided to hand over recently constructed building of CID Complex to SSU for establishing Counter Terrorism Study and Training Centre which would be upgraded in due course in to a University specialized in law enforcement and counter terrorism. It will be first ever initiative of its kind in Pakistan and will go long way in fighting terrorism.
In the end of ceremony appreciation certificates along with cash rewards were awarded to ASI Rana Iftikhar (SBB, EPTC), PC-69 Iqbal Ahmed (District Jamshoro), PC-30470 Sajid-ur-Rehman (Security II), PC-7594 Zulfiqar Ali (SRP-Sukkur), PC-1118 Mazhar Ali (SRP-Sukkur) for their extraordinary performance during the training.
