Partridges shooting in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa begins

Peshawar: Partridges shooting season 2011-12 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to be started from Sunday 27th November, 2011 and continued till 5th February 2012. The entire province excluding Districts of Hangu, Tank, Upper Dir, Kohistan and Bahrain and Matta Sub division of District Swat will remain open to partridge shooting.

According to a press release of Wild life Department, hunting will be permissible only on Sundays and gazetted holidays under a valid shooting license. Hunting in game reserves will be permissible only under a special shooting permit to be issued by the Chief conservator Wildlife, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Peshawar.

Maximum bag limit shall not exceed eight birds of all partridge species per gun per day. Value of property equal to Rs. 500/- will be charged for each bird shot in excess to bag limit besides compensation. Use of automatic weapons like repeater short gun for shooting is strictly prohibited.
