Pakistan ambassador (designate) to Indonesia calls on president Mamnoon Hussain


Islamabad, January 17, 2014 (PPI-OT): Pakistan’s Ambassador designate to Indonesia, Attiya Mahmood called on President Mamnoon Hussain at the Aiwan-e-Sadr on Friday.

The President while felicitating the Ambassador designate on her appointment advised her to focus on further promoting economic interactions between the two countries so as to strengthen the existing equation.

The President observed that there existed huge potential for enhancing mutual cooperation in various economic sectors that needs to be fully tapped. In this context, the President said that greater interactions among the business communities would provide momentum to the efforts aimed at expanding and diversifying trade between Pakistan and Indonesia. The President also called upon the Ambassador designate to work on Free Trade Agreement between the two countries.

While recounting various investment opportunities existing in the country in infrastructure development, housing, mining, power generation, oil and gas, IT, agriculture and dairy farming, the President said that the two countries can further collaborate in these areas for their mutual benefit.

Ambassador designate thanked the President for reposing confidence and assured that she would do her best to further strengthen Pakistan’s relations with Indonesia especially the trade relations.
