OIC commemorates 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights

 

Jeddah, The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has initiated a joint event of Permanent Observer Delegations to the United Nations in Geneva to commemorate the 70th Anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR) on 26 November 2018 at the Palais des Nations.

The aim of this interactive panel discussion, in which the Director General of the UN Office in Geneva and the High Commissioner for Human Rights will be the guests of honor, is to share vision and policy approach to promote and defend the values and principles of Human Rights such as equality, nondiscrimination, social justice, tolerance, and freedom.

The Observer delegations, which include the OIC Permanent Observer Mission to the UN in Geneva, will reflect on how through selected articles of the UDHR, they are promoting the virtues of respect, tolerance, diversity and inclusiveness among their constituencies.
