Islamabad: National Vocational and Technical Training Commission (NAVTTC) Prime Minister Secretariat (Public) Islamabad is holding one day National Workshop in collaboration with GIZ on the “TVET Reforms Programme” being funded by the Netherland, Germany and European Union at Hotel Serena Islamabad on coming Wednesday 27-07-2011. The subject of the national workshop is “National Skill Strategy and TVET Reforms Support Programme”. This one day workshop will start from 9.00am and close at 4.30 pm.
The Programme Agenda for the National Workshop is that, after recitation from the Holy Quran, there will be a Presentation of the Agenda by Mr Imran Moderator GIZ. Executive Director NAVTTC Tariq Shafi Chak will welcome the guests through his Welcome address, there will be Opening Remarks from the Employers Federation Pakistan (EFP) by Tariq Saeed Senior Member EFP. DG(S and C) of NAVTTC Shahid Ashraf Tarar will give presentation on National Skill Strategy-Content and Achievements, National Deputy Programme Coordinator of GIZ Raja Saad Khan will give presentation on “Translating National Skill Strategy into action TVET Reforms Support Programme”.
Then there will be three Components of this national workshop. The coordinator of the first component will be Qazi Farid from GIZ. The subject of the component is “Governance and Institution Building-Presentation of activities and plenary discussion”. The second component will be on “National Qualification Framework and Human Resource Development for TVET-Presentation of activities and plenary discussion”. The coordinator of the second component will be William Sutcliffe from GIZ. The 3rd component will be on “Effective and Innovative Training Delivery and Labour Market Information Services-Presentation of activities and plenary discussion”. Coordinator of the 3rd component will be Chong Fook Yen from GIZ.
After lunch, there will be subject of discussion titled “Selection Economic Priority Sectors for the TVET Reforms Support Programme-Short Presentation and Discussion”. The coordinator of the subject discussion will be Qazi Farid from GIZ. Then senior TVET advisor GIZ Dr Ute Hoffmann will speak about the “outlook upcoming activities”.
Before the closing remarks and words of thanks by the Executive Director NAVTTC Tariq Shafi Chak, there would be a general discussion and way forward by the provincial TEVTAs and other stake holders as well. All heads of provincial TEVTAs, heads of Chambers of Commerce and Industries and other stake holders throughout the country will participate in this work shop.
