Islamabad, November 05, 2012 (PPI-OT): More than 200 civil society representatives will be gathering in the capital city to discuss and formulate collective actions in order to improve the status of education in Pakistan. Pakistan Coalition for Education, a civil society representative network is holding a two day national level education convention titled “Investing in Education for a Progressive Nation” on More than 200 civil society representatives, 2012 at Islamabad Hotel.
There will be special sessions with, Donors, Political parties, Media, policy makers, educationists and development sector experts. Organizations from more than 40 districts will be participating from all over Pakistan. During these two days there will be four interactive sessions which will mainly around following themes:
Commitments and Spending: Official Development Assistance for Education (ODA) in Pakistan
Taking Stock and Gathering Momentum: Political Parties Commitments and Initiatives for Right to Education
Expanding Horizons for Universal Education – Media as Agent of Change
Spaces For Civil Society; Policy Engagement On Education
Mr. I.A. Rehman , Ms. Razina Alam – PML-N, Ms. Nafisa Shah – PPP, Syed Waqas Jafri – Jamat-e-Islami, Sadqat Abbasi – PTI ,Ms. Shagufta Malik – ANP, Dr Farooq Sattar – MQM, Mr. Mazhar Arif, Mr. Musaddaq Sawnwal along with others wil be the key speakers for these four sessions
This convention shall be bringing together all stakeholders of the educational sector for amalgamating policies, issues and recommendations required at this point in time. A report shall be generated thereof bringing together all the details and recommendations of these stakeholders. These recommendations shall form the basis of the agenda to be taken up in the upcoming year.
