Mirwaiz held incommunicado in Delhi: APHC


New Delhi, February 12, 2013 (PPI-OT):  The All Parties Hurriyet Conference has said that APHC Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has been continuously held incommunicado by the Indian authorities in New Delhi.

An APHC spokesman in a statement in Srinagar said that the Hurriyet was concerned about the safety of Mirwaiz Umar Farooq as it could not establish contact with him because the authorities had deprived him of his cellphones.

The APHC denounced continued imposition of curfew in Kashmir for the fourth consecutive day today, illegal confinement of Hurriyet leaders, gagging of media and killings of three Kashmiris by Indian forces during protest demonstrations against the hanging of Muhammad Afzal Guru.

The spokesman said that the APHC chairman was arrested while he was on his way to New Delhi airport to leave for Srinagar after the execution of Muhammad
