Maqbool Butt is symbol of liberation movement: JKLF


Srinagar, February 05, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Acting Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front, Bashir Ahmad Butt, has described the prominent martyred liberation leader, Muhammad Maqbool Butt, as a symbol of resistance movement.

Bashir Ahmad Butt addressing separate meetings of the JKLF leaders and activists in Pulwama and Shopian said that Maqbool Butt had enlightened the candle of freedom when Kashmiris were in deep slumber of slavery. “On February 11, 1984, our beloved and sincere leader was hanged and was buried within the premises of Delhi’s Tihar jail,” he added.

Bashir Ahmad Butt also chaired a meeting of JKLF leaders at the party headquarters in Srinagar. The meeting was attended by Javaid Ahmed Zargar, Noor Muhammad Kalwal, Showkat Ahmed Bakhshi, Muhammad Siddiq, Bashir Kashmiri, Javid Ahmad Butt and Showkat Dar.
