Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to launch Area Development Project in oil and gas producing areas of the province by end of 2019.
Addressing a news conference in Peshawar on Wednesday, Advisor to Chief Minister on Energy and Power Hamayatullah Khan said under the project, basic facilities will be provided to people of these areas.
He said a petroleum Institute will be established in southern districts to train youth in petroleum related technologies.
Hamayatullah Khan said the department has set its target of increasing revenue from existing two-billion rupees to six-billion rupees by end of current fiscal year.
The Advisor said work on the construction of a 300 MW hydel power project in Mansehra will be started in September 3019 and it will be completed with the financial assistance of Asian Development Bank.
