Jordanian King in Islamabad, meeting President Hussain

 

Islamabad (UNA-OIC) - Jordanian King Abdullah II discussed here with Pakistani President Mamnoon Hussain bilateral ties and ways to further boost them in various fields.

In an expanded talk, which was held on Friday, at the presidential palace in Islamabad, the King stressed the importance of promoting ties, namely, in the sphere of defense industries.

There is a need to exchange visits between the public and private sectors of both countries, in order to increase trade volume between Pakistan and Jordan, the Pakistani president said.

Talks covered a wide range of issues including the latest developments in the Middle East region, and fighting terrorism within a holistic approach, Petra reported.

Besides, the Jordanian King affirmed the need, in cooperation with Pakistan, to clarify the true image of Islam and its values of tolerance and moderation.

The Palestinian cause was also on the agenda of the talks, as Abdullah emphasized that the issue of Jerusalem which is the key to the peace and stability in the region, should be resolved within a framework of a comprehensive solution to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict that guarantees the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Talks also dealt with Jammu and Kashmir cause, as the two sides voiced their desire to resolve the issue through a political track with India.

The Pakistani president praised King Abdullah's role in bringing peace and stability to the region, expressing his country's desire to enhance ties with the Kingdom.
