Islamabad: Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) FM Radio 92.4 on Tuesday started a special transmission with the name of `Complaint Cell’ to listen public problems and ensure their resolution on immediate basis.
Minister for Interior A. Rehman Malik has directed the officials of Islamabad police to set up complaint cell at FM Radio of ITP due to popularity of its program among the people so that problems of the masses can be resolved on priority.
In his special remarks and direction to Islamabad police officials in a program here, the minister for Interior said “ITP FM Radio 92.4 is playing an important role in educating the citizens on traffic rules and regulations and its programs are very popular among the people. Owing this popularity, I direct Islamabad police to set up complaint cell there and introduce a program where people can openly lodge their complaints about police attitude or other problems being confronted to them”.
In compliance of these directions, IGP Islamabad Bani Amin Khan on Tuesday joined the first program of this special transmission of complaint cell. He received 25 live calls of the citizens, informed them about this exclusive transmission initiated on the directions of Minister for Interior A. Rehman Malik and also ensured to resolve their problems after listening them in details.
SSP (Traffic) Dr. Moeen Masood, SP (Traffic) Mir Vais Naiz, Program Coordinator ITP FM Radio Ms. Ayesha Jameel and other senior police officials were also present on the occasion.
The IGP shared various security measures with the citizens during this transmission which have been taken in the city for their safety including erecting special police pickets, halting points, deployment at entry as well as exit points and also at shopping centres during Ramadan.
As per directions of the Minister for Interior A. Rehman Malik, a police official of SP rank would monitor this program or cell of ITP FM Radio and ensure prompt action on the complaints of the people.
On the occasion, IGP Islamabad Bani Amin Khan said FM Radio project was need of the hour and it has raised awareness among citizens about traffic rules He said that citizens are already benefiting and more will benefit from this service. It would help control road accidents, promote the concept of safe driving among people as well as ensuring resolution of public problems through effective policing.
The IGP said that people can lodge their complaints at this cell without any hesitation and every possible effort would be made to solve them and ensure concrete steps for effective policing.
