Hundreds participate in funeral prayers of Afzal Guru

Srinagar, February 19, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, hundreds of people participated in the funeral prayers in absentia for Muhammad Afzal Guru who was hanged and buried in India’s infamous Tihar jail on February 9.

Chairman of Jammu Kashmir Ummat-I- Islami, Qazi Ahmed Yasir, while addressing the gathering in Islamabad town denounced the secret hanging of Afza Guru

He said the government of India is following the footsteps of colonial imperialism against people of Kashmir who want their birth right. He also hailed the students of Kashmir who raised voice in Indian cities.

“The brave youth who came out to protest peacefully in Delhi and other parts of India were manhandled by the fanatics in connivance with the local Indian police.”

He strongly condemned the imposition of curfew and killings of youth including a woman in the occupied territory. “Kashmiri people were not even allowed to grieve for their martyr and when they tried to do so, they were showered with bullets,” he added.
