The government has given tax exemption on relief items of flood victims.

Sharing details in this regard, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb, in a statement on Thursday, said that on the directions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, the federal cabinet had approved tax exemption on 30th August.

The Information Minister said all relief items including boats and mosquito nets are exempted from tax for the assistance of flood victims.

She said the cabinet’s decision was implemented forthwith. The Ministry of Finance and the FBR had also issued an SRO in this regard.

Under the rules and regulation, the welfare organizations and philanthropists will have to acquire a certificate from the NDMA.
