Fanning confrontation among institutions hallmark of Pakistan People’s Party: Barrister Saif – Govt left with no other option to implement Supreme Court’s verdict on National Reconciliation Ordinance

Islamabad: All Pakistan Muslim League (APML) Secretary General Barrister Muhammad Ali Saif said that PPP-led ruling alliance has left with no other option to ensure implementation at the apex court verdict on NRO and it would be better enough for the incumbent government to dispatch letters to Swiss government against President Asif Ali Zardari pursuing the Supreme Court’s judgment on NRO.

In a released message from APML Central Secretariat here on Wednesday, Barrister Saif stated that fanning confrontation among democratic institutions has been hallmark of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and once again PPP led ruling government has embarked upon to create differences among the institutions to gain the status of ‘Political Martyr’.

Barrister Saif pointed out that the judiciary has always demonstrated patience and tolerance by providing enormous opportunities to the ruling regime to mend its undemocratic initiatives but it seems PPP’s led ruling alliance is committed to violate the apex court’s sovereignty.

It is not only the NRO judgment, which has not been implemented by PPP-led government but there is long list of other cases where the government has been defying the apex court’s ruling as the cases of corruption scams like Hajj fraud, NICL, Pakistan Steel Mills, Bank of Punjab and re-employment fraud witness to the fact, Barrister Saif said.

APML Secretary General Barrister Saif further stated that airing confrontation among institutions would not only heighten anarchy in the country but also sabotage the democratic setup of the country, added that whatever wrongdoing the PPP-led regime has committed during its three and half years’ tenure now the time has come to face the music.
