Peshawar: The District Government Peshawar, while taking notice of the reports has started action against encroachments and suspended a M.I. for negligence in cleaning the area of Jehangirpura.
According to details, responding to a report published in a local daily, regarding removal of historical boundary wall of late Nawab Nasir Khan’s Muqbara, ex-ruler of Peshawar situated in Chowk Nasir Khan, prompt action was taken and the area was visited in the presence of Administrator Town-I and the owners of the adjacent land was directed to reconstruct the collapsed boundary wall within three days positively or otherwise face action which may include lodging of FIR under relevant sections of law.
TOR of Town-I was assigned the task to visit the site on daily basis to ensure completion of the boundary wall in the targeted time and compliance report to the DCO Peshawar on daily basis.
Similarly to ensure cleanliness as well as removal of encroachments, various routes of the procession of Muharram were also visited. So as huge debris were found lying in Jehangirpura causing inconvenience to the general public and the Illaqa M.I. namely Irshad was suspended for negligence in spite of clear instructions issued to the TMA official to ensure cleanliness of the city and Administrator Town-I was directed to conduct enquiry into the matter and submit report accordingly within seven days positively, says a special report issued here by the DCO Peshawar here on Monday.
