Chairman Senate Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani has called for regional collaboration to expedite the process of regional growth and prosperity in trade, energy, agriculture besides other diverse sectors.

He was speaking at a Conference of Non-Alligned Movement Parliamentary Network in Baku on Thursday.

The Chairman Senate said that the modern world is fast moving toward globalisation, interconnectivity, and cooperation.

He said Pakistan strongly reaffirms the principles of the UN Charter, particularly the right to self-determination and peaceful settlement of disputes.

Sadiq Sanjrani said silence on the long-standing oppression in Kashmir and Palestine is counter-productive to the very ideology behind NAM.

He said Pakistan also stands for peaceful and dialogue-based resolution to disputes between nations or regions.

The Chairman Senate also interacted with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, Speaker of the Milli Mejlis of Azerbaijan Mrs. Sahiba Gafarova, and dignitaries from different Parliaments.

During the meetings, he said there is huge scope for investment in Pakistan and investors from Azerbaijan can explore opportunities through mutual collaboration with Pakistani counterparts.

He said Gwadar port will provide Central Asia a short route to connect with other continents for business and trade and Pakistan would welcome Azerbaijani investors to invest in different projects for mutual benefits of the two sides.
