Ashraf Sehrai arrested, shifted to Srinagar Central Jail

Srinagar, February 25, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Indian police arrested Hurriyet leader and General Secretary of Tehreek-e-Hurriyet Jammu and Kashmir, Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai, from his residence and shifted him to Srinagar Central Jail.

Contingents of the police cordoned off the residence of Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai on Sunday, bundled him in a police gypsy and took him to the Central Jail.

Ashraf Sehrai was put under house arrest on February 9 soon after the hanging of Kashmiri youth, Muhammad Afzal Guru, in New Delhi’s infamous Tihar Jail.

Meanwhile, the forum patronised by the veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, in a statement issued in Srinagar strongly condemned the arrest of Muhammad Ashraf Sehrai.
