ADVANCED NAVY SHIPS TO MARK PAKISTAN’S PRESENCE AT DIMDEX

 

DOHA, Qatar, Two Pakistan Navy Ships and four delegations, will continue the tradition of keeping solid representation at the sixth edition of the Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference (DIMDEX).

Pakistan and Qatar have a significant security and defence relationship that is cemented via avenues such as DIMDEX.

Commodore Irian Taj, Defence Attache of the Pakistan Embassy in Qatar, describes Pakistani representation at DIMDEX very impressive.

Pakistan has been regularly attending the DIMDEX, which speaks of its due commitment to the region's security and prosperity. The delegations at DIMDEX will represent various prominent defence and security agencies of Pakistan.

The Minister of Defence Production, Rana Tanveer Hussain, will lead a four member delegation. Sardar Mansab Ali, Parliamentary Secretary for Defence, will lead a two member delegation.

Two Pakistan Navy ships, which will make their presence felt at the Exhibition are fast attack missile craft ship, Himmat and maritime security ship, Basol.

Himmat, built at Karachi Shipyard and Engineering Works (KS&EW) Pakistan, is equipped with state-of-the-art weaponry and sensors, including an indigenously developed, sophisticated missile system that can perform tasks in a variety of threat scenarios.

Basal, named after a Pakistani river, is a multi-purpose vessel, outfitted with world-class technology for patrolling ports and maritime trade routes, as well as, carrying out search and rescue.
