Prime Minister praises parliament’s role

 

Islamabad, February 27, 2013 (PPI-OT): Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf praised the role of the present parliament which has carried out record legislation.

This was stated by the Prime Minister while talking to Dr Fehmida Mirza, speaker National Assembly here at PM House this afternoon.

The speaker briefed the Prime Minister on the agenda of the ongoing session of National Assembly and its importance as this was the 50th session of the House which she said is unprecedented in the country’ history. Views on current situation and legislative business were also exchanged.

The premier added that the parliament carried out most of the legislation with consensus. He further said that 18th, 19th and 20thconstitutional amendment ensured provincial autonomy, women and minorities rights and independence of election commission.

The prime Minister applauded Dr. Fehmida Mirza for conducting the parliamentary sessions in a dignified manner and winning the acknowledgment of all members of the House.
