Chief of Royal Australian Navy calls on Defence Minister Syed Naveed Qamar

 

Islamabad, February 25, 2013 (PPI-OT): Vice Admiral R. J. Griggs, Chief of Royal Australian Navy called on Defence Minister Syed Naveed Qamar here in his office in Islamabad, today. Minister for Defence Syed Naveed Qamar stressed that Pakistan holds great respect for Australia and its people and believes that the two countries will take the relations to new heights. The minister added that he desires to see the relations open up to multiple avenues.

Australia and Pakistan have close bilateral ties and Pakistan holds great reverence for the present state of relations between the two countries. Australia has always helped Pakistan in difficult situations like floods and earth quakes through relief and assistance

The Chief of Royal Australian Navy Vice Admiral R. J. Griggs expressed satisfaction on defence cooperation between the Armed Forces of the two countries. He added that Australia is keen to see Afghanistan move towards peace and is readily playing its role to bring the country out of turmoil.

The Minister for Defence thanked the Chief of Australian Royal Navy for Australia’s continued support in areas of defence, education, relief efforts and trainings.
